Tokyo Tort Square Cat Eye Sunglasses

Tokyo Tort Square Cat Eye Sunglasses

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect cat eye shades, and these tortoiseshell beauts have got to be the pair for me. I was always a classic black sunglasses kind of girl; never opting for much bling or embellishments. But lately, I’ve just been loving rich textures and classic patterns that have come and gone out of style over the past decades, iconic styles such as argyle, houndstooth, paisley, chevron, and of course, tortoiseshell. These frames have a dramatic lift at the corners for just the effect I’m going for that will look great with hair worn down or up. I also like that the lenses are plenty tinted; I never go for anything semi-sheer for personal style preference but also since my pupils are extremely sensitive to light. At $98, I think these sunnies are a bargain and even a justifiable cost if they end up being a trend I never return to. You never know… I might change my mind again in another few years.

I’ve always been a huge Ray-Ban kind of girl and this season I’m excited to start expanding my sunglasses horizon! I’ve got my eyes (literally) on these fabulous Folding Wayfarers in Light Havana, which is basically their classic tortoise print. I think it’s a really nice change from basic black and will be perfect for those long summer days!

Bellissima Tortoiseshell Double-Strand Bib Necklace

Bellissima Tortoiseshell Double-Strand Bib Necklace

Tortoiseshell is just one of those timeless finishes that never goes out of style. Whether on sunglasses, jewelry, or handbags, nothing captures the changing colors of fall better than this texture. The thick layered Italian rhoidoid plastic chainlinks of this Bellissima necklace make a lovely statement piece that is classic and fun, without being too distracting. While bubble necklaces and other neon statement necklaces were huge this spring and summer, I’m looking forward to rocking the more neutral color scheme as the weather cools down. Say, this necklace paired with a sheath dress and khaki trench; there can’t be any look more polished and elegant for fall.
