Now that Christmas is out of the way, it’s time to focus all of our attention on New Years. What will you be wearing? If you’re like me, you may have neither lined up an outfit nor made plans yet. In my book, anything with sequins or paillettes can be an automatic candidate for “the dress.” I love this dress by Bloomie’s own in-house brand Aqua, not only because the metallic bronze color flatters any skin tone, but because the pullover and sleeved fit is super comfortable. You’ll be out a long time, so your outfit shouldn’t be hard to dance or more around in. Between the champagne, confetti, and kisses, there’s simply no time for a wardrobe malfunction.

If you’re looking for a glitter polish that will give your nails a foiled look, I have to recommend the Jewel FX line by Milani. I’ve only tried the gold, but two or three thin coats layered over a base coat will give your nails a gorgeous foiled appearance that grabs everyone’s attention. I like layering this chunky hexagonal glitter polish over creme finish nudes, greys, reds, and pinks for a fun festive pop on my ring finger. The Jewel FX glitters are just colored glitter in a clear polish base, so they will work layered over any polish you have or just fine on their own. A perfect glitter polish for the holidays!

Thinking about wearing this dress on New Years Eve? Color me green with envy. It’s been a while since I’ve written about a one-shoulder dress, so let’s drool over this one together in this week’s edition of Modcloth Monday. This dress, which pays homage to one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC, incorporates a simple but chic sheath shape with a solid sequin weave throughout. The gorgeous emerald-peridot shade makes for a more subdued dazzle, whereas a gold or silver solid sequin dress may be for the more bold to pull off, but the green really gives you some room to play with shiny accessories and shoes. You may very well find me on NYE in this dress, paired up with metallic peep-toe pumps and elegant drop earrings. Only if Santa brings me a Modcloth gift certificate, that is.
