Sachajuan Leave In Conditioner

Sachajuan Leave-in Conditioner

Having recovering, damaged hair, I’m always interested in trying out new conditioners that will replenish, detangle, and prevent further hair breakage. Leave-in conditioner is one of my favorite types of hair products, since it can make combing your hair after a shower 100x easier. This leave-in conditioner by Sachajuan is light and oil-free so it makes hair styling a breeze; just apply to towel dried or slightly damp hair to begin. It contains Ocean Silk Technology to give great body and shine, which also help keep hair and scalp healthy. So it really is something that nourishes from the inside out. Healthy hair is happy hair, and some sort of leave in spray is a vital part of my hair care routine I can never be without. This one is a popular one with stylists and beauty enthusiasts alike, so it’s definitely up on my list of products to try. Did I mention it’s also sulfate and paraben free? Perfect!

RegenePure DR Hair & Scalp Treatment

RegenePure DR Hair & Scalp Treatment

You might already know my hair is extremely damaged, so it should make sense that my biggest hair fear next to hair breakage is hair loss. I’ve been looking into specialty shampoos and I recently came across RegenePure DR, a treatment shampoo for battling hair loss and dandruff. A lot of the time, these medicated specialty shampoos can be full of harmful chemicals that actually can do more damage than repair. But that’s not the case with RegenePure DR, which is full of scientifically formulated high quality ingredients. First off it contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole, which is proven to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth by disrupting the production of DHT. Additionally, this shampoo contains emu and jojoba oil to nourish the hair, and caffeine among many other ingredients to stimulate the scalp. The most important thing for me? This product is both sulfate and paraben free. It also contains no synthetic fragrances that I’m extremely sensitive to. Lastly, I feel great because this product is not tested on animals. This is absolutely a wholesome product I would love to add to my hair care routine.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser

We’re going to briefly talk about something not so glamorous here: acne. As someone who’s struggled with acne on and off for the greater part of my life, I can tell you it sucks. It really really sucks when you feel like you’ve invested over hundreds of dollars in skin care products and treatments that are suboptimal. They work kind of, sort of, for a little bit, then your acne pokes through again, and it comes back with a vengeance. It’s even worse when it’s that certain time of the month when your hormones are all out of whack, and you get a super painful pimple to deal with that you feel everyone honing in on. It’s hard to even look people in the eye for fear they might start staring at your acne.

So in short, I’ve been there and I know how bad it can be. That’s why I’m so glad I finally tried this gel cleanser by La Roche-Posay that has instantly cleared up my skin after just a few washes. The pores around my nose are noticeably less clogged and dark looking. The large painful pimples on my forehead and chin have diminished. Not to mention, my overall skin condition has improved 10-fold, and I’m having a lot of “good skin days” lately that I’ve never experienced before. It dries up acne without overdrying or stripping your skin of moisture. This is a cleanser totally worth trying if you’ve had it with acne!

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter

Since I’ve been showing a little more leg on vacation, and starting to self tan more regularly, I’ve made it a habit to moisturize my skin religiously every day as soon as I get out of the shower. Besides my 100% pure unrefined extra virgin coconut oil I apply at night, I use a lighter product that absorbs more quickly in the day and I’ve recently been stuck on Pacifica’s Body Butter in Tuscan Blood Orange. This is a fabulous natural product that contains high quality ingredients like shea butter, almond and safflower seed oil, and mango butter. The scent is absolutely strong, bright ,and citrusy, with subtle finishing notes of Madagascar vanilla. While this is a thick body butter, I find that it blends well over my legs and arms and doesn’t leave me waiting long to put on my clothes after application. Nourishing enough to be a daily hand cream and body moisturizer, I was using this product non-stop last week on my trip to Kansas City, where I was strutting a little more skin on the hot and humid Midwest days. I just love that this product is paraben-free, cruelty-free, and 100% vegan. Replacing it will be a breeze, too, because this product is thankfully carried at Target!

Cosmedica Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Cosmedica Skincare Hyaluronic Acid Serum

We’ve all heard it time and time again, keeping your skin hydrated is best thing you can do for your overall skin health. It’s even easier than avoiding the sun, or remembering to wear and reapply SPF. If you haven’t already heard, hyaluronic acid is a wonderous humectant, a compound that powerfully draws in moisture from the environment. It can hold 1000 times its weight in water and it naturally occurs in various human tissue for lubrication and hydration purposes. But sometimes our bodies could use a little extra serving of this magical stuff, and it’s great to get in a serum as one of the first skin products that touch and sink into your bare skin. This Hyaluronic Acid Serum by Cosmedica Skincare is by far one of the most affordable and 100% pure options I’ve found. It’s made in America and is completely paraben-free; with no added fragrances, oils, or fillers. Hyaluronic acid can help promote skin elasticity and boost collagen production, while obviously adding hydration by helping your skin retain more moisture. It can overall help the appearance of your skin in texture and complexion evenness, so I absolutely think this is something everyone can incorporate in their routine. It’s such an easy small step to take to achieve brighter, more beautiful, and well hydrated skin. I already take HA supplements daily, but I think switching to this serum is the more economical way to go.

Younique Mineral Eye Shadow Pigment

Younique Mineral Eye Shadow Pigment

If you’ve read my other blog or watch my YouTube channel at all, you’ll know I’m in the process of cutting chemicals and other harmful ingredients out of my beauty routine. I recently discovered these high impact pigment shadows by Younique that are 100% natural and mineral based which I definitely want to make some space for in my collection. They are talc and paraben free, as well as free of so many other harmful things we don’t need to be putting on our faces. What’s really awesome is that there are so many vibrant and neutral pigment colors perfect for every level of makeup fan. I’m lusting after the pigment in Sexy, a beautiful shimmery champange shade that I could easily wear every day, and given these pigments are long wearing and sweat-proof, I probably would. Also, pigment eye shadow no longer means only shimmery and sparkly finishes; don’t overlook Younique’s selection of gorgeous matte pigments. The shades Beautiful and Vulnerable are my favorites and would be an excellent pairing with Sexy.  Lastly, with pigments you have the option of wearing them wet or dry, which can yield two totally different looks from just one pigment. Talk about bang for your buck!

Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Daily Pore Scrub

Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Daily Pore Scrub

Let’s be honest: affordable natural skin care products are hard to come by. Yes, it was much more difficult years ago, but now consumers have told brands what they want and natural products are much more easier to come by at stores like Walgreens, Target, or even Walmart. Yes To is one of my favorite natural skin care lines for products that are good for you, good to the environment, easily accessible, and affordable for everyone. I recently tried a sample packet of this Yes To Tomatoes scrub and it might be my new overall drugstore fave. It contained fine circular granules in a runny jelly solution that worked fabulous as a gentle exfoliant, mild enough for most people to use every day. Formulated with ingredients to treat acne like salicylic acid, other ingredients like ginger root and bisabolol help reduce redness; both major skin concerns in my world. The product is also cruelty free and paraben free; two necessary criteria items for most of the products I buy these days.
