Kelly Bergin Silk Trench Coat

Kelly Bergin Silk Trench Coat Style

Just like everyone could use a fun bright denim or top, I think a statement coat is a fabulous item to bust out of the closet from time to time. This slim-fitting trench coat by Kelly Bergin is just that piece. First, feast your eyes on the gorgeous poppy color, and second, notice the sleek silk sheen it gives off. The trench is classic and refined, yet still different and new. Brights always make a comeback, season after season, and you can’t go wrong with the cut of this coat.  For the fashionable, on-the-go, professional woman, I’d say this might just be splurge-worthy!

Wild Poppy Skinny Skinny Ankle Colorpop Jeans

Wild Poppy Skinny Skinny Ankle Colorpop Jeans

Not too long ago, we raved about these slim-fitting cropped pants in a gorgeous warm jade color. I have since found a similar alternative, from a different brand, in a different shade, in a different fabric, but in the same price bracket. Looking for an easy pop of color? Try a bright bottom, especially if you’re bored with your current collection of jeans. Like our jade pant pick we featured a few weeks ago, we love these not only because they’re in a bright orange poppy hue, but because it’s a great match for animal prints and preppy pieces alike. Great for both the wardrobe adventurists and traditionalists, or whatever fashion mood you’re in. I would love to wear these belted with a tucked in blouse, striped scarf and a plain t-strap sandal. Is it that clear? I’m so ready for spring.

Safari, So Near Scarf

Safari, So Near Scarf

It’s time for another Modcloth Monday, and I’m here to share with you one of my favorite recent scarf finds. This safari-inspired scarf by Modcloth is perfect for creating a layered look, being a little larger and on the sheer side, it can be looped around the neck several times or thrown on as a shawl. I love the navy trim offset by the vibrant red-orange, and the peek of zebra stripes that are not overly in-your-face like many animal print accessories can be. Scarves are a fashion staple for me all year round, and I just know this will look just as great over LWDs and khaki shorts in the summer as it will on my camel sweaters and muted blouses in the winter.

Seira New Tech Poplin Dress

Yep, here we go again with another lust-worthy item in the color of the year – orange! This beauty is a chic sleeveless minidress by DVF in my favorite color. It features a cowl boatneck, dainty belted waist and pleats at the waistline, giving off a perfectly poised and tailored look. Although, it’s secretly the slant pockets that have me sold, because more dresses and shirts should simply have pockets. Wear with a platform gladiator (like these gorgeous ones) or t-strap sandal and a white blazer for effortless colorblocking, perfect for spring weddings or a hot date. DVF, you really can do no wrong.

Poppy Nude Chiffon Inserts Dress

If there is one color I think you should pull to the front of your closet this year, it’s orange. Not only is it my favorite color in general, the more red-orange and tangerine shade is going to be the trendy color of 2012, according to the Pantone Color Institute. And if you’ve followed this blog for some time, you know we have a soft spot for dresses with sexy cutouts and inserts (as seen here, here, and here). That said, I can’t help but love this hot bodycon mini dress by David Lerner. The bright poppy shade is gorgeously off-set by the, very carefully placed, nude inserts along the sides under the bust. Instead of always highlighting my jewelry, shoes, or makeup, I think I have finally found the perfectly bright and bold statement dress to wear out.
