A fantastic way to wear a dress but not show too much skin is choosing something with a high-low hem. This dress from Pink Rust Boutique is a prime example! The cascading ruffles and high-low cut of the skirt  give it the right amount of flirt and movement. It shows just the right amount of bare leg and leg behind a sheer veil of fabric. The braided empire waistline and braided sash also give this dress a Grecian vibe and a nice, refined touch. I also love that it’s a one shoulder style, perfect for showing off a sunkissed glowy collarbone and décolleté. Let us not forget the gorgeous navy color that isn’t your typical spring color, but is at the heart of all things nautical. Can’t you just imagine wearing this on a yacht somewhere? I can, dipped in gold accessories, wearing a floppy hat, with a glass of white wine in hand. I absolutely adore this piece and think it’ll work for so many occasions all spring and summer long. I don’t care if navy and white nautical stripes are reserved only for summer, I just wear what I want. If you love rocking nautical-inspired stripes all year long like me, you might also like this take on the nautical classic combo in this skirt by Club Monaco. Navy compliments so many other fall hues like burgundy, burnt sienna, and cognac, which make this skirt so perfect for those slightly warmer fall days where you can get away with showing a little leg. Safari, So Near Scarf

It’s time for another Modcloth Monday, and I’m here to share with you one of my favorite recent scarf finds. This safari-inspired scarf by Modcloth is perfect for creating a layered look, being a little larger and on the sheer side, it can be looped around the neck several times or thrown on as a shawl. I love the navy trim offset by the vibrant red-orange, and the peek of zebra stripes that are not overly in-your-face like many animal print accessories can be. Scarves are a fashion staple for me all year round, and I just know this will look just as great over LWDs and khaki shorts in the summer as it will on my camel sweaters and muted blouses in the winter.

High-Low Zigzag Pattern Dress

You may have already heard that I started a new job, and let me tell you, there’s nothing like a new place, new people, new routine and a little income that makes me want to shop more! Here we are back again with another high-low hemmed item on OMGbuymeTHIS, only this one features an edgy geometric zigzag flare. This sheer dress has raw edges and an elastic waist, in a fairly unusual combo of navy and taupe, that can be dressed up or down in so many ways. I love the long necklace, opaque tights and ankle boots the model has on (totally my style), but I wonder how cute it would be, still polished yet with a funky twist, with a light denim jacket, bootie wedges and a felt fedora. This dress has lots of personality and plenty of room to flirt, but it’s still very casual and daytime appropriate.
