Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation

Revlon Colorstay foundation is a cult-favorite beauty product and the whipped version of their popular foundation launched and was very well received in 2012. As a loyal high-end foundation wearer – I swear by Estee Lauder and Dior – I bought this on the sole recommendation of other beauty bloggers who claimed this was a great, long-wearing foundation with amazing coverage. So I tried out shade 200 Sand Beige, which ended up being a perfect shade match and it really did last through my long 10+ hour days. Applied best with a buffing brush, Beauty Blender sponge, our just your fingers (my fave), a thin layer of this foundation gives off a great coverage, and two thin layers give you an absolutely flawless look. The finish is matte to satin and should be set with a finely-milled powder to really last all day, especially if you have oily skin. I’m so glad I found this foundation last year since it’s a great alternative to my other pricier foundations, that actually stacks up!

Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation

Mineral Fusion Pressed Powder Foundation

I recently covered this item in my July Favorites video and I’m kind of obsessed. This pressed powder foundation by Mineral Fusion is medium to full on the coverage but light to the touch, so it makes a great setting powder for that flawless face or a great summertime powder foundation when worn alone. The finish is matte and really smooths out complexion beautifully. The formula is free of parabens, fragrance, and talc so it is hypo-allergenic and safe for sensitive skin. This product is also gluten free and does not test on animals. Not to mention, this product is also packed full of antioxidants to help protect your skin from free radical damage. The powder is super finely milled, so it’s not just a natural product, it’s a product that genuinely outperforms others laden with chemicals and artificial preservatives. What’s not to love?

NYX Concealer in a Jar

NYX Concealer in a JarHave a flaw that needs concealing? Whether dark circles, blemishes, or hyperpigmentation patches, I have recently been reaching for NYX’s Concealer in a Jar to cover up my imperfections when trying to look my absolute best. The formula of this product is rich, creamy and very pigmented, similar to the MAC Studio Finish concealer, but noticeably more slippery and blendable. It even covers those annoying raised pimples (I’m already embarrassed typing about) which most concealers slide or swipe right off of. Best part is that it’s super affordable and a little product goes a long way. But, are you already flawless? Here’s a neat makeup tip: faintly outline a bold lip with some concealer at the tip of a fine-pointed brush to really accentuate the cupids bow (the dip in your lip at the middle edge of the upper lip, directly below the nose) and outer edges of the mouth, creating the illusion of plumper lips that stand out more. Just in case you’re curious, my shade is “Beige.”

Benefit Hervana Face Powder

Benefit Hervana Face Powder

If you haven’t seen or tested out a Benefit boxed powder before, I highly suggest you locate the lovely Benefit display next time you’re at Sephora and give them all a spin. Hervana, a “good karma” face powder, is the newest addition to their already impressive permanent collection of high quality blushes, highlighters, and bronzers. Swirl the pinwheel segments of shell, peach, rose, and berry together to create the perfect natural pink heavenly glow to your cheeks. And, like all Benefit boxed powders, it even includes a mini travel-friendly brush in the box. Although it appears completely matte in the photo above, customer reviews confirm Hervana gives off a slightly sheer but buildable, semi matte yet satin finish to the skin. Well, I just can’t think of anything more angelic.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

As someone with oily/combination and acne-prone skin, I’m pretty cautious about what I put on my face. Additionally, as someone constantly on-the-go, I’m forever in search for products that can last during long days and even longer nights. Double Wear is somewhat of a cult-favorite, with its compatibility with oily skin and long-lasting formula, and it’s hands-down my favorite foundation I’ve tried. It feels great on the skin, gives a semi-mattified finish, and provides SPF 10. It’s medium to full coverage, which is easily buildable and can double up as a concealer, perfect for the delicate under eye area. Finally, something that doesn’t melt off my oil slick t-zone by noon, and smooths over the rest of my face perfectly. It’s also dermatologist tested fragrance and oil free. Pure flawless bliss.

Go get a free 10-day sample at your Nordstrom Estée Lauder counter now and become a believer! If you have normal to dry skin, I suggest asking the beauty consultant what’s their best formula for your skin type.
