Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Lipstick

The packaging, the branding, the color! How could you not LUST after this stunning lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury? Coming in 11+ shades, this luxurious lipstick comes in collectable packaging that’ll delight you every time you apply and reapply. The signature rose gold packaging varies by shade, but there are bullet packaging designs with star dust, stripes, panthers, leopard print, and more. The shade Red Hot Susan is a bright fiery matte red worthy of any bombshell makeup look. Hot Lips 2 Lipsticks feature the Matte Revolution formula, my favorite from Charlotte Tilbury’s line. If you prefer a deeper vampy berry red, go for Viva La Vergara. For a more pink fuchsia red, try Patsy Red instead. There’s even a clear balm shade if you’re just looking for a matte but moisturized plumped pout. We heart Hot Lips 2!

Maybelline ColorSensational Color Whisper in Cherry On Top

Maybelline ColorSensational Color Whisper in Cherry On Top

Somewhere between a lipstick and a tinted lip balm exists the new Maybelline Color Whispers. Part of the ColorSensational line, these lip products are a sheer lipstick that feels like a lip butter, which I’ve found even produce a mild stain. While I’ve been cutting back on my overall spending on makeup recently, I’ll pick up a new product every so often, especially if it’s currently being raved about within the beauty blogger community. This was the case for this product, so I chose Cherry on Top as my first shot at this product and I have to say I’m absolutely loving it. If you’re familiar with the Revlon Lip Butters, the consistency of the Color Whispers are ever so slightly lighter. Granted, I’ve only tried one color of each line, I think I prefer the Color Whispers because they are a little bit more comfortable to wear and Cherry on Top leaves my lips with a faint pinky red stain for several hours. If you love lip color, but hate that it’s sometimes a pain to wear, you have to check out this line and experiment with some of the deeper reds, fuchsias, and magentas. I think this product will easily convert strictly lip balm lovers into lip color-wearing junkies. Give it a try next time you’re at the drugstore!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

It’s summer, you’re busy, and you simply don’t have time to reapply your makeup. I know the feeling, girl! That’s why I’m totally obsessed with this new drugstore lip stain product that actually works! Part balm and part stain, Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is a chubby pencil that applies with ease over your lips and leaves a moisturizing and minty sensation behind. The color is long-wearing and lightweight, never leaving your lips dry or cracked as many long-wearing lip products formulas may cause. What’s also convenient is the pencil is a simple twist up tube, so no sharpening is necessary. Cherish, the bubblegum pink shade, is already a permanent makeup bag fixture even though I’ve only owned this item a few days. Why? Because I have plenty of other things to worry about than reapplying my lip color. Unless I’m applying it while running out the door to catch my bus into the city at 7am.

NYX Round Lipstick in Circe

NYX Round Lipstick in Circe

For a night out on the town, one of my favorite looks to rock is a deep smokey eye with a nude lip, it just never gets old!  While it doesn’t have unanimous reviews on MakeupAlley, NYX’s Circe shade is one of my go-to nude lipsticks because it’s easily wearable when applied with just a sheer wash of color. When applied in a more concentrated fashion, you get a more bold yet barely there, muted lip that looks killer on a bronzed and contoured face. NYX is well-known as a high quality drugstore makeup brand, and this round lipstick line is one of their best products in my opinion. The lipsticks have a nice creamy consistency to help your lips feel quenched and totally kissable. And at less than $2, how can we say no?

When picking out a color, just be sure to run a quick Google search on shade swatches since the color swatches on Cherry Culture are a little darker than the shades are in real life.

Day 21: MAC Cosmetics ‘Lady Bug’ Lipstick

Mac Cosmetics 'Lady Bug' Lustre Lipstick

Day 21: Your Favorite Lipstick! Another short and sweet post! This fall I have gotten into lipstick like never before. Having had a pretty bad experience as an 8 year old at my aunt’s wedding (smeared literally from ear to ear), I tend to stay away from lipstick in general. BUT – the MAC counter girl got a hold of me a few months ago and showed me the light. Lady Bug by MAC is part of their Lustre collection and I absolutely love it. It works with pale and tan skin and is a really gorgeous color for fall! (Just don’t let your 8 year old’s get a hold of it!)
