Pin-up Darling Soiree Crochet Dress Top

Pin-up Darling Soiree Crochet Dress Top

Have you ever seen a lace pattern so lovely? Somewhere between the retro days of classic pin-up starlets and the present, you find this sheer party frock by Pin-up Darling. Founded in 2011, Pin-up Darling is an indie clothing brand inspired by the charming ’40s and ’50s style era, yet still has a wearable vibe that fits with today. I’m pretty much in love with everything they carry, but this dress really caught my eye as one of the most unique designs from the brand. Since it is a crochet style, you will need to wear a slip underneath, but that’s where you can get creative with it. Layer it with a black slip for an elegant look, or a nude slip for a flirty boho look; either way you can reinvent it with accessories fit for each occasion. So many soirees, so little time!

p.s. it seems to be the perfect tunic length, so depending on your height, you could wear this as either a dress or top!

Dorothy Perkins Coral Crochet Detailed Dress

Dorothy Perkins Coral Crochet Detailed Dress

Out of nowhere, it seems Indian summer is finally in full swing in San Francisco. October 1 hit and so did the heat. If you’re still on the hunt for lovely, light dresses to wear in this last stretch of sunshine, don’t miss this one by Dorothy Perkins. In a lovely peachy coral shade, it doesn’t get much more cheerful and feminine than this. Also of note are the adorable crochet panels around the neck, which make accessorizing a breeze (no necklace necessary!). Don with sunnies and bangles and you’re out the door. Currently wishing I had something like this to wear today, but sadly all of my dresses are packed up for my move.

BB Dakota Amris Lace Short

BB Dakota Amris Lace Short

Although it was doom and gloom weather today in SF (read: overcast & sprinkling), I’m dreaming of warmer climates in far away places. I absolutely love mixing up and showing off textures in summer looks because they don’t get lost under winter layers, and these crochet lace shorts by BB Dakota are just the thing for me. I would love to pair them with a sheer blouse or tailored collared shirt, of course with some high wedges and a fun tote. Crocheted shorts are popping up everywhere this summer, so don’t get left behind on the trend. Scoop up this summer essential before it sells out, or your “summer” weather ends if you live in SF like me.

Cotton Crochet Tiered Short

Cotton Crochet Tiered Short

I’ll admit, it’s been a while since I’ve worn anything Wet Seal, but they have always been a great place to score trendy bargain pieces, so they’re definitely worth popping into or surfing over to every once in a while. Speaking of bargains, take for instance these 100% cotton crocheted shorts I just stumbled upon. Fist off, these are nearly identical to these shorts by Aqua that are 3x the price. Way to go WS! But not only are they affordable, these shorts are super versatile, being chic and ladylike, they will prove relevant and attractive for many seasons to come. I would love to see this paired with a bright off-the-shoulder top, wedges, chain strapped bag, and these shades. Feminine but edgy, just like me.

Boxy High Low Pullover Sweater

Boxy High Low Pullover Sweater

Sometimes, there’s nothing more comfy and cozy than a nice pullover sweater. I found this sweater in Tuesday’s Lookbook.nu & PacSun collaboration newsletter, and I was immediately drawn to this burgundy sweater as styled on Rachel-Marie Jones. Having not worn any Roxy clothing in quite some time (not counting the snowboard gear I own), I was surprised that this contemporary knit was from their line. It’s a light weight, crochet style knit that comes in several shades. With the high-low hem, this is the perfect knit to through over plain leggings tucked chunky socks and boots, or over a skirt or shorts in a layered look. How could you not find a place in your wardrobe for every single color?
