Houndstooth Haze Scarf

Houndstooth Haze Scarf

Some may swear by leopard print, however houndstooth is one pattern that will never get old for me. Not sure you can rock the classic stark black and white pattern? Take a look at this soft-focus houndstooth scarf from contemporary preppy chic-brand Madewell. This scarf is wool yet appears semi-thin, allowing for much outfit versatility, especially in this delicious mocha shade. Today is the first rainy day of many as a storm hits the Bay Area, so it’s the perfect time to bundle up and break up a drab rain-ready outfit with a nice printed scarf.

MAC Gingerly Blush

MAC Gingerly Blush

It’s no secret; I’m a blush fanatic. Some of my favorite blush brands being Benefit, elf Studio, and NARS, I must give credit to MAC for being the leader of the pack when it comes to quality and color selection. About a year ago I raved about Dollymix, but now I have found a new shade to lust after, and it’s Gingerly. This terracotta-like blush has an overall warm brown shade with hints of orange and red underneath, which produce a warm, flattering glow on the cheeks, without looking overdone. Since this is a Sheertone shade, the color in the compact is far darker than what shows up on your face, so you get a really sheer transfer from pan to brush to finally skin. Although I discovered this in the fall, I think it’s about time I make the purchase with a Nordstrom gift card I received for Christmas. And applied with a light hand, I think this could be a functional blush, year-round. I’d like to give a special thanks to beauty blogger & YouTuber Amarixe for the recommendation!

Wrecker Platform Boot

Wrecker Platform Boot

Holy mother of chunky platform heels. This funky chestnut hued boot with a vintage flare, by Jeffrey Campbell, is covered in small buckled straps and rests on a chunky 5.25″ wooden heel, aided by a 2″ hidden platform. Looking so deliciously retro mixed with white crocheted tights, can’t you just imagine this also worn with a denim romper or khaki dress? I don’t think I can hold out long for these ones… is it spring yet?
