I’m always on the hunt for a classic dress like this one from alice + olivia. One that is always appropriate but still fun enough any given weekend and special occasion du jour. I’m getting to the age where my weekends are packed with weddings, dinners, and countless other events with friends, and I usually rely on a classic dress to always look my best. This dress features a fitted bodice and a box-pleated skirt, so it’s conservative and yet a little flirty. Contrasting pleats and a peek-a-boo hem give it structure and sass. Let us not forget the refined and removable rhinestone belt, a great accessory should you not have a better one to swap out from your collection. A dress great for any social occasion.

There are few pieces more versatile than a wrap dress; they can just be worn so many different ways! I’m currently loving this one by Dorothy Perkins, and I’m learning to find there isn’t a thing yet I don’t love from this label. The poly fabric on this dress features an Aztec-inspired zig-zag pattern which is broken up by a skinny brown belt. I’m headed to NYC this weekend for the annual BlogHer conference and this dress would be absolutely perfect to wear paired with a classic blazer or denim jacket, crossbody purse, and sandals, chic enough for those long conference days and even longer nights. Too late to order it now, but it’ll definitely work for countless other occasions working well into fall. How cute would this be with tights and tall brown boots? Am I right?
