Tokyo Tort Square Cat Eye Sunglasses

Tokyo Tort Square Cat Eye Sunglasses

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect cat eye shades, and these tortoiseshell beauts have got to be the pair for me. I was always a classic black sunglasses kind of girl; never opting for much bling or embellishments. But lately, I’ve just been loving rich textures and classic patterns that have come and gone out of style over the past decades, iconic styles such as argyle, houndstooth, paisley, chevron, and of course, tortoiseshell. These frames have a dramatic lift at the corners for just the effect I’m going for that will look great with hair worn down or up. I also like that the lenses are plenty tinted; I never go for anything semi-sheer for personal style preference but also since my pupils are extremely sensitive to light. At $98, I think these sunnies are a bargain and even a justifiable cost if they end up being a trend I never return to. You never know… I might change my mind again in another few years.

Miu Miu Pentagon-Frame Acetate Sunglasses

Miu Miu Pentagon-Frame Acetate Sunglasses

While I’ve been loving the popular cat eye sunglasses lately, I’ve also been loving other bold geometric shapes like these pentagon shades by Miu Miu. The gradient lenses give these sunnies a retro vibe and the glossy black frames and gold arms give it everyday wearbility. If you can afford these beauts, I think they’re a fabulous find for spring and summer that will catch everyone’s attention.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Side Stripe Sunglasses

Marc by Marc Jacobs Side Stripe Sunglasses

I already know, the sharp angular shape of these stunners won’t be for everyone. As a lady with large expressive facial features, I look for a bold shape to help frame the face, and not make my nose or ears, particularly, seem any larger than they already are. These sunglasses from Marc By Marc Jacobs are the perfect amount edge and angle for a lady like me, who doesn’t like too much crazy embellishment on the arms (with the exception of the Prada Baroques). There’s just no question – I will be living in these spectacles all summer long.

Prada ‘Baroque’ Round Sunglasses

Prada 'Baroque' Round Sunglasses

We know, we know, these came out ages ago, sometime last year. But, the fact that these sunglasses are still available on Nordstrom.com has me convinced, there are probably still some people out there who haven’t yet seen these Prada beauts. These shades are truly unique and will grab attention from now until the end of time with their whimsical baroque-style arms and large rounded lenses. They are chic and stylish, in every definition of the terms, so they would make a fabulous addition to any eyewear arsenal, especially for those of us who like to make a bit of a fashion statement or just want to sneak in a little bit of sass to an ordinary outfit.

Gucci Oversized Shades

Oh sunnies, what would the world be without you. Now I’m not saying go Anna Wintour extreme or anything, but having a good collection of sunglasses can be an amazing thing. I fell in love with these Gucci shades on a recent trip to Shopbop for both the ombre color and the size. I’m a big fan of oversized sunnies and these are a perfect example. Grab them on one of two fun colors and enjoy them wherever you may go!
