Saloni Multicolor Sunset Birds Print Scarf

Saloni Multicolor Sunset Birds Print Scarf

Living in the Bay Area, it’s quite normal to wear scarves all year round. Even on typical spring and summer days it can go from pleasantly sunny at lunch to chilly and blustery cold when you leave the office for the day, so stylish scarves are one of my favorite accessories to wear out the door or tuck in my purse just in case. I recently came across this gorgeous silk-cashmere blend scarf by London-based, Indian fashion designer Saloni Lodha, which I can’t take my eyes off of; it just needs to become part of my scarf repertoire.  The beautiful colors, organic style, subtle fringe, and bird motif all make it a unique piece, one that everyone will be begging to ask who it’s by. Though a splurge, the time is now to scoop up this stunning scarf from the Autumn Winter 2011 collection on clearance at 50% off.

Deux Lux ‘Empire’ Faux Leather Clutch Ecru

Deux Lux 'Empire' Faux Leather Clutch Ecru

You see spikes a lot these days on black leather, but what about anything else? I am currently obsessing over this bad ass clutch by DEUX LUX featuring gold conical spikes on a creamy ivory-beige faux leather. Edgy yet refined, the clutch is a typical envelope style and is lined with silky satin to safely encase all your small essentials (phone, lipstick, ID, etc). This is one killer statement accessory you could use for many nights out to come.

Linea Pelle Skinny Hip Belt with Chevron Keepers

Linea Pelle Skinny Hip Belt with Chevron Keepers

Who loves chevron? We do, we do! And we’re not talking petrol, people. Chevron print is everywhere these days and I love the subtle brass hardware detail on this belt that makes a clever use of the style. Skinny yet substantial enough, this belt by Linea Pelle is available in three different sizes and colors. I think this is a great belt for everyone to have in their collection to pair over cardigans, maxis,  high-waisted skirts, or anything else that could use some geometric embellishment.

Nicole Miller African Oblong Scarf

Nicole Miller African Oblong Scarf

Something about this scarf stopped me immediately in my websurfing tracks. Maybe it’s that I have a need for more color in my drab winter wardrobe? Or perhaps it’s my obsession with scarves in general? This 100% silk scarf from Nicole Miller is just the right part geometric and the right part abstract. I say that because flattened out or folded strategically in a certain way, it appears very symmetrical and exact, whereas looped around the neck and tied in a knot, it appears very complex and intricate. Slightly reminiscent of a traditional African kente cloth, I absolutely love the bright pops of magenta, pale pink, marigold, and cornflower blue. I guarantee this is a scarf you’ll receive compliments on and an endless begging of the question, “where did you get that at?”

Safari, So Near Scarf

Safari, So Near Scarf

It’s time for another Modcloth Monday, and I’m here to share with you one of my favorite recent scarf finds. This safari-inspired scarf by Modcloth is perfect for creating a layered look, being a little larger and on the sheer side, it can be looped around the neck several times or thrown on as a shawl. I love the navy trim offset by the vibrant red-orange, and the peek of zebra stripes that are not overly in-your-face like many animal print accessories can be. Scarves are a fashion staple for me all year round, and I just know this will look just as great over LWDs and khaki shorts in the summer as it will on my camel sweaters and muted blouses in the winter.
